Job Title:  JROTC Teacher

Schools:  Eastpointe Secondary Campus (Eastpointe High School, Virtual Academy/Alternative Center)

Do you believe our students are the future of the United States of America? Does your passion for teaching drive your engagement with students, colleagues, parents, and the community? Do your students value your relationship with them?

Can your teaching talent raise the profile of a school by growing  military scholars? Can you develop a school  culture of pride and high achievement?  Are your students  passionate and proactive about learning because of you?  Do you differentiate and scaffold learning for each student?

Who we are: Eastpointe Community Schools is in the business of transforming lives. Our partnership with the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD), Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and State Wide Field Team (SWFT) has created a unique opportunity for rapid district turnaround. Part of our continued growth and improvement involves increasing educational expectations, developing a culture of support, and nurturing all students to address academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs.

Eastpointe Secondary Campus is a unique venue, supporting approximately 700 students in grades 8-12.  Our campus consists of three schools on one campus (the 8th Grade Academy, the traditional high school for grades 9-12, and a Virtual Academy/Alternative Center).  Our students have a variety of opportunities that prepare them for Career, College, and/or Technical readiness. We partner with Wayne State University for ongoing opportunities for our students, through the WSU C2 Pipeline Program; we offer dual-enrollment and early college through Macomb Community College, College Board Advanced Placement, honors coursework, medical careers, law enforcement, culinary, and business courses as well as traditional courses.

We boast a stellar instructional staff, as well as a supportive staff including two counselors, social workers, instructional coaches, and teacher mentors. Look to EHS for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Restorative Practices, Academic and Athletic Coaching opportunities, as well as Curriculum Department Teams.

What we offer: Eastpointe Community Schools appreciates talents and skills that others may have missed and embraces leaders willing to challenge the status quo. As a Secondary Teacher in our district, you will work side by side with your Principal, Instructional Coaching Team who will help you  move your program forward. You will find tremendous opportunities for professional learning in Eastpointe, as continuous growth is an expectation for all employees. We pride ourselves on creating a culture of continuous improvement with educators who feel this work is a calling, and where every interaction with students counts.  YOUR DREAM-OUR TEAM!

What we are looking for: If you desire to be anchored in a culture of collective responsibility that is collegial, collaborative, and professional, we want you! If you deliver value consistently, we are looking for you!
