Job Title: Mathematics Teacher - 8th Grade

Position Description :  To motivate students in the application of mathematical understanding and encourage the application of solutions of practical problems. To develop competence in basic mathematical skills and encourage pupils to develop their special talents in the field of mathematics.

 

This position requires subject area expertise commonly associated with secondary teaching and instruction. Directly related coursework and endorsement is required to perform problem analysis using prescribed principles, methods and concepts.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
  • Appropriate Michigan Teaching Certification
  • Highly Qualified as defined by NCLB
  • Endorsement Required: Mathematics (EX)

  • Design and utilize formative assessments to modify and adjust instruction on a daily basis
  • Implement a tiered system of instruction within the classroom to meet the needs of all students
  • Develop organized routines, communicate clear expectations, and grow a positive school culture
  • Build a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability
  • Ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches or administrators for instructional support in the never ending quest to deliver the vision of high quality subject-specific instruction in every class period every day
