Job Title:  Paraprofessional 

Position Description:  Paraprofessional- $17.00- $17.40 per hour depending on College Credits

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or 60 Semester Hours or passed the ETS Parapro Assessment

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates excellent reading, writing, and communication skills, and demonstrates ability to work effectively with students and adults
  • Maintains effective professional communication with classroom teachers
  • Works with students on an individual basis or in small groups to provide direct academic support services
  • Supports the classroom instruction of the Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
  • Assists students in bringing their achievement standards to proficiency levels
  • Monitors student achievement
  • Maintains the necessary records in order to be in compliance with State Grant Funded guidelines
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality on all matters related to their work
  • Assists in management / organization of materials, supplies and equipment (inventory).
  • Participates in professional development as required
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Our paraprofessional will skillfully demonstrate:

  • Passion for reading and cultivating literacy in students
  • Ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students
  • Willingness to leverage the student support network to ensure that students’ social, emotional, nutritional and health needs are addressed
  • Ability to motivate students, promote their self-esteem,  and influence their behaviors
  • Aptitude to discuss subject specific content instruction and the drive to try out new ideas to improve student learning
  • Develop organized routines, communicate clear expectations, and contribute to a positive school culture
  • Contribute to a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability
  • Ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches or administrators for instructional support in the never ending quest to deliver the vision of high quality subject-specific instruction to increase achievement of highest risk students
  • Accurately maintain program records as assigned and within due dates
  • Effective communication with administration, teachers, staff, parents, and students relative to programs.

Salary Data: As per Negotiated Agreement with the EFE, Probationary Rate $16.60 for the first 60 days, $17.00 after 60 days. Additional 20 College Credits +$0.20 per hour, additional 40 College Credits +0.40 per hour.
