Job Title: Special Education Paraprofessional
Position Description: Various Special Education Classrooms
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or 60 Semester Hours or passed the ETS ParaPro Assessment
- Experience with technology
- Experience working with students or in a school setting
- Ability to work cooperatively as member of a team and ability to work independently
- Medical training to support a student with a seizure disorder
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates excellent reading, writing, and communication skills, and demonstrates ability to work effectively with students and adults
- Maintains effective professional communication with classroom teachers
- Works with students on an individual basis or in small groups to provide direct academic support services
- Assists students in bringing their achievement standards to proficiency levels
- Monitors student achievement
- Maintains the necessary records in order to be in compliance with State Grant Funded guidelines
- Promotes the student's self-esteem through success in the Tiered Intervention Program
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality on all matters related to their work
- Assists in management / organization of materials, supplies and equipment (inventory)
- Participates in professional development as required
