Position: Driver for Need-Based Students

Location: Eastpointe Community Schools

Hours: Part-Time (24-30 hours per week)

Salary: $18.00  per hour

Hours: Mon. - Fri.  6am - 9am, 2:30pm - 5pm

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport homeless and need-based students to and from school.
• Additional transportation of student athletes. 
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the van.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van interior.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders.
• Enforce all passenger rules and regulations to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns promptly and according to established protocols.
• Moderate physical activities such as 
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds] occasionally.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.

Requirements:

• Valid chauffeur's license.
• Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing.
• Clear physical examination results.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Clean driving record verified through a driving record check.
• Criminal Record Background Check
• Completion of safe schools training or willingness to undergo training.
• Ability to understand and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with students facing challenges.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to professionalism.
